| Dear school,
I love you. I wish you would be nice to me and love me back. We would be so happy together. We would be like birds flying in the sky. A sky full of love.

P.S. History of rhetoric in communications, I still hate you a lot.
| Dell replaced my much abused mp3 player with a brand new one. Apparently, these things are "delicate" and are not capable of withstanding multiple crashes onto asphalt, cement, tile, or any other hard surface for that matter. Go figure. My brand new baby (complete with a bright yellow label on the back that reads "refurbished," to serve as a constant reminder of my carelessness and Dell's subsequent selflessness) arrived within three days of my dad's phone call to customer service. This is wonderful, except for the fact that now I have no reason to call Dell and ask, "When is my mp3 player going to be delivered? Come on, now; I wait for Christmas, but I don't wait to rock!" Which I thought was pretty clever. Oh well, one more witty remark for the ol' humor reservoir.
Hannah and I are going to New Mexico next week. I'm planning to stop at every truck stop equipped with a gift store on the way in hopes of finding that shirt that says, "If you think I'm cute, you should see my grandpa" again. I'm still kicking myself for not buying it the first time I saw it.
So Lindsey and I saw Charlie and the Chocolate Factory yesterday. As we were leaving the theater, these raving brats came screaming out the door, nearly knocking us over. Their mom was pleading with them to behave in a wheedling kind of yell while they ran up and down the halls. Lindsey looked at me and whispered, "Oh, the irony." We both started laughing and every time one of them barrelled past us, we'd say "Garbage chute" or "Blueberry" or "Dramatically smaller versions of your former selves." Sadly, I don't think they heard us.

Yay for getting poison ivy - AGAIN!
| I have been thoroughly submerged in jollification.
Camping all last week, sleeping and reading and rocking out all this week.
By the way (and I'm almost ashamed to admit this), I'm just now getting caught up in the joys of mp3 blogs. So far, I've found about five new Sufjan tunes, thanks to sundry indie kids. Uh-mazing.
Also: M.I.A.'s Sri Lankan hip-hop (courtesy of England) is way fun to dance to. Buy this album; you won't regret it.
I'm sunburned, and my shoulders itch.
Favorite quote of the day (so far, anyway): "When people say, "Oh, I don't care about anything," they're full of shit. Everyone cares about something. But in those moments when you're like, 'I. Don't. Care,' you're telling the truth. And that's a very sexy place to be."
| Corporate America is still the devil. So are cleaning chemicals. So are allergies that make you have nasty reactions to said cleaning chemicals. So are managers who resolutely refuse to acknowledge your allergies to said cleaning chemicals, even when you have to go home from work several hours early in order to take Benadryl to calm your angry allergies down. That makes me REALLY angry.
So I quit.
Amazing scenery, amazing outdoorsy stuff, and simply incredible people cannot make up for hives and bosses who continually make you do jobs that you cannot physically perform, no matter how many times you talk to them about it.
In summary, I would like to inform you all that I am now back in Texas. So let's hang out and go see some shows and do urban things and stuff!
